With the SE Custom 24-08 solidbody electric guitar, PRS brings one of its most sonically versatile guitars to its most value-laden line of instruments. It’s loaded with a pair of TCI (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance) humbucking pickups and advanced switching options to yield every type of tone a modern guitarist could ask for. Two mini toggle switches serve as coil taps for each pickup, allowing you to instantly switch between fat humbucking tones and chiming single-coil tones — there’s even a “dual single-coil” mode unique to this model. Complete with PRS’s Wide Thin neck profile for comfortably fast playability and a PRS tremolo for maximum expression, this PRS SE Custom 24-08 offers a lifetime of musical exploration.

Exceptional tonewoods, enhanced playability

One look at the Custom 24-08 and you’ll be mesmerized by the exquisite grain pattern and color scheme. The combination of a mahogany body and maple top gives the SE Custom 24 a perfect balance of rich midrange and bright snap. In tandem, the maple neck and rosewood fingerboard bring an immediate and authoritative attack to your chops. Make no mistake — the SE Custom 24-08 is ready to dominate the stage with you. With its Wide Thin neck carve, you are free to burn through your quickest solo runs in absolute comfort across all 24 frets. The newly revised shallow violin body carve, reminiscent of PRS’s Core series, feels natural to your body in any seated or standing position with ultimate fret access anywhere on the neck.

Near-unlimited sonic potential

The TCI “S” humbucking pickups found in the SE Custom 24-08 were developed and fine-tuned by PRS to sound more musical and expansive than previous “S” model offerings. Despite being full humbuckers, the TCI “S” set captures elements of single-coil and soapbar-style pickups — lows are rich but tight, and highs sing beautifully without any harshness. When used as humbuckers, the output is clear with a slight edge that distinguishes the SE Custom 24-08 Quilt from the rest of the mix. Splitting the TCI “S” pickups takes that single-coil sound to new dimensions, capable of funky rhythm tones and bluesy leads. Guitar tone gurus are quick to note the overall sonic versatility on tap with the SE Custom 24-08.
