The Bass Synth comes stocked with eight classic presets — inspired by a range of sounds, from Michael Jackson to Nine Inch Nails — so you can waste no time turning out your favorite riffs or creating indelible lines of your own. Unlock a new dimension of heart-pounding pulses, molasses-like movements, and silky-smooth stylings with the MXR Bass Synth pedal.

A multidimensional deep dive

Bassists find the user-friendly control set as accessible to players with synth experience as it is to those taking their first plunge. Though the sounds the Bass Synth molds may be complex, creating them is fairly straightforward. Use the Shape button to establish the foundational waveform, then adjust the Mod and Envelope knobs to set the amount of modulation present in the sound and the filter response, respectively. Further tweak your tone with help from the Mix, Cutoff, and Resonance controls, where you can blend the dry and wet signals, manage the cutoff frequency, and inject your tone with an extra boost. The MXR Bass Synth is capable of bass sounds that are out of this world, no doubt, but it also provides hours of joyful and surprising sonic experimentation.
