Lewitt LCT 40 SHx Shockmount

The Lewitt LCT 40 SHX is a professional studio shockmount designed specifically for use with Lewitt’s LCT 540 S, LCT 540 Subzero, and LCT 640 TS large-diaphragm condenser microphones. Its primary function is to mechanically decouple the microphone from the stand, boom, or mounting surface, attenuating the transmission of mechanical noise, vibration, and handling interference that would otherwise reach the capsule and appear in the recording as low-frequency rumble or structural noise. In critical recording environments — particularly when capturing quiet sources, acoustic instruments, or vocals at close proximity — effective shockmounting is as important to the signal chain as the microphone itself.

The LCT 40 SHX features a quick-acting screw thread closure for fast, secure microphone installation and release during session setup and changeovers. The mount accepts both 3/8-inch and 5/8-inch thread connections, making it compatible with the full range of standard microphone stands and boom arms in professional studio environments. The elastic suspension system provides consistent, reliable isolation from floor vibrations, footsteps, stand knock, and cable-borne interference without altering the microphone’s position or frequency response.

For engineers and producers using the LCT 540 or LCT 640 TS in demanding tracking and recording applications, the LCT 40 SHX is the manufacturer-specified shockmount solution — ensuring the full performance potential of the microphone is realised without mechanical noise compromising critical recordings.
