Harrison Audio 32Classic MS Channel Strip

The Harrison Audio 32Classic MS is a 1U, 19-inch rackmount mono channel strip that brings the complete signal chain of Harrison’s flagship 32Classic recording console into a standalone outboard unit. Rooted in the same console lineage behind landmark recordings by Michael Jackson, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, and Steely Dan, the 32Classic MS pairs a Jensen JT-MB-CPCA transformer-coupled microphone preamp with Harrison’s legendary 4-band parametric EQ, characterful filters, and an integrated summing mix bus — delivering the full Harrison workflow in a format accessible to any studio.

The Jensen transformer preamp delivers up to 70 dB of clean gain with an equivalent input noise below -129 dBu, and a frequency response of 20 Hz–20 kHz ±0.25 dB. Input options include rear-panel mic and line XLR connections, a front-panel combo input selectable for instrument/Hi-Z or mic, plus 48V phantom power, a -20 dB pad, polarity reverse, and a tri-colour LED meter. The 4-band proportional-Q parametric EQ — the same design associated with legendary engineers Bruce Swedien and Roger Nichols — covers LO (40–600 Hz), low-mid (200 Hz–3.1 kHz), high-mid (400 Hz–6 kHz), and HI (900 Hz–13 kHz) with ±10 dB of boost/cut per band. Harrison’s HP and LP filters feature extremely wide ranges (25 Hz–3.15 kHz and 160 Hz–20 kHz respectively) with a musical 3 dB resonant peak at the corner for additional character. A balanced post-preamp insert point allows integration of outboard dynamics or EQ before the filters.

The 32Classic MS includes an integrated stereo mix bus with fader, pan, and pre/post-fader direct outputs, enabling multiple units to be daisy-chained via rear-panel jumper connections into custom Harrison-flavoured summing configurations — ideal as a drum bus, instrument group sidecar, or standalone input strip feeding an existing analogue setup.
