A faithful rendition of a legendary device from an iconic modular synth system, the Behringer 904A VCF is a self-oscillating resonant lowpass filter brimming with thick and gritty vintage character. The 904A’s two primary controls —Fixed Control Voltage and Regeneration — carry the names found on the original unit, but, in modern parlance, they translate to filter cutoff and resonance, respectively. And they behave exactly as you would expect, with the unmistakable sound that has cemented its place in synthesis history. A Frequency Range knob lets you select from three frequency cutoff bands: position one spans from 1HZ to 5kHz, position 2 is 4Hz to 20kHz, and position 3 is 16Hz to 80kHz, so you have ample control over your filter sweeps. The 904A is equipped with a signal input and output. It also includes three CV control inputs for manipulating the Fixed Control Voltage, which are summed for creating dynamic movements from multiple LFOs or other modulation sources.
