Ahead 5A Drum Sticks

The AHEAD 5A is the drumstick that put AHEAD on the map. Instead of solid wood, it’s built around an aerospace-grade aluminium core wrapped in a durable, replaceable polyurethane cover and tip – so when the cover finally wears through (and it will take a while), you simply replace the cover and tip rather than the whole stick.

That construction gives the 5A up to 50% less shock transfer than a wood 5A, around 5% more rebound, and a lifespan quoted at 6 to 10 times longer than traditional hickory. Every stick is built to the same high-precision alloy core, so weight and balance stay consistent pair after pair – no more digging through a box of sticks looking for a matched set. The nylon tip is unbreakable and gives a warm, wood-like sound on cymbals and heads, while the built-in Vibration Reduction System (VRS) helps take the sting out of long rehearsals and gigs.
