First Thursdays In Braamfontein: On the first Thursday of every month you can look forward to contemporary art, live music, DJ sets, poetry, performance art, pop-up bars and more in one of the city’s three most artistic areas – Rosebank, Newtown and Braamfontein. By and large entrance to all First Thursdays venues is free and most events run between 17:00 and 22:00.

Clash of the acoustics: Rumours Rock City – Two Sundays per month –contestants perform to become the Acoustic King of Rumours Rock City. Entry into the competition is FREE. Entry for supporters is R20 per show. A panel of random judges will pick their favourites for the first 7 qualifying rounds. November and December will host the Semi Finals and Finals. Semi finals will be judged on criteria provided in the summery. Finals will be voted by Finalists in their own capacity. Acoustic King of Rumours Rock City will receive a R5 000 cash prize – as well as other prizes from special guest supporters of Rumours Rock City. There is no limit to the amount of contestants able to enter – a contestant may only audition once. Featured Artists include; 15:30 Kelly, 16:15 Kevin Colborne, 17:00 Prashant Maharaj, and 17:45 Josh.

Bad Peter EP Launch at Social on Main: Social on Main – Bad Peter is an independent singer/songwriter duo made up of PG Badenhorst and Alwyn Bekker. The band formed in March 2014 and released their debut EP in November 2015 under label David Gresham Records.
