Jason Green

Jason Green has been a full time music lecturer and session bassist in South Africa for over twenty years.

After graduating from The Pretoria Technikon with a National Diploma in Light Music in 1995 he pursued a dual career as a Music Lecturer and performer.
Jason taught at The National School of the Arts in JHB (Music theory, Bass guitar, Music Business and History of music) from 1997 till 2003. He then helped launch The Campus of the Performing Arts in Kensington JHB in 2004 and was a lecturer as well as Head of Campus till 2011. During this period he was also the National examiner for Music Business levels NQF4 and NQF5. He lectured at The Academy of Sound Engineering from 2012 till 2016 when he decided to focus on his session
and Rockscool examining careers.

Since 1995 till present day Jason has been a regular session bass player (upright and electric) in the Gauteng music scene. He has performed with many of South Africas biggest musical stars as well as playing in the house band for the following tv shows : Noot vir Noot (2003 till 2009) , The Voice South Africa ( 2016 and 2017 seasons) and Dancing with the stars South Africa (2018 season).

Jason has performed bass in the following stage productions : Josephs amazing technicolour dreamcoat, Cabaret, Rocky Horror picture show, Sister Act, Saturday night fever and Evita. Jason has been a international examiner for Rockschool UK and South Africa since Septemer 2015
