Powerful VCA – more than a volume dial

Utilising a high-end voltage-controlled amplifier (VCA), the STUDIO XL allows for extremely precise volume changes. Where conventional volume dials pass the signal through a potentiometer, the STUDIO XL controls a separate high-precision amplifier circuit for immaculate phase coherency and detailed volume controls. A large dial allows you to make small, incremental changes to control your sound easily and get the perfect level for mixing and mastering your tracks.

More monitoring options

When it comes time for the final mixdown, it’s vital that you hear how your mix sounds through a number of different systems to ensure your mix will translate between different sets and types of speakers. STUDIO XL gives you three sets of monitor outputs to connect up to two pairs through one unit with a dedicated switch to A/B/C between them instantly, with individual volume dials to get a perfect balance. This will allow you to hear any subtle differences between two sets of speakers and will allow you to make adjustments to get your mix sounding professional and polished on as many unique systems as possible.

Further playback switches are included to make sure you have complete control over your monitoring directly at your fingertips with no complicated menus to dive through. Mono, Mute and Dim switches are all available on the face of the unit to help you listen at different volumes quickly and easily without disturbing your VCA volume dial as well as to monitor how your mix may sound through a mono speaker source such as a mobile phone or tablet device.
