Solid State Logic Fusion Analog Stereo Outboard Processor
For South African mastering and mix engineers wanting to add analog magic to their final stems, the SSL Fusion from Marshall Music packs five distinct analog processing stages into one 2U stereo unit. Designed for sweetening full mixes or individual stems on the way to the mix bus or master, Fusion brings together harmonic enhancement, EQ, compression, stereo imaging, and transformer saturation in a single, purpose-built signal chain.
Five Analog Tools in One SSL Fusion Unit
The signature feature of the SSL Fusion is Vintage Drive, a non-linear harmonic enhancement circuit where interacting Drive and Density controls produce the kind of harmonic saturation and soft compression you’d get from gently overloading a vintage analog circuit. As a result, you can add warmth and density to a mix without it ever sounding harsh or artificial.
Alongside Vintage Drive sits the Violet EQ, a minimum phase-shift, two-band shelving EQ drawing on SSL’s console heritage, with four switched frequency points and ±9dB of gain on both the high and low bands. In addition, the HF Compressor delivers smooth, tape-like high-frequency rounding, gently taming harshness without affecting the rest of the spectrum.
For width and spatial control, Fusion’s Stereo Image section uses a true analog Mid-Side circuit to manipulate the side signal, widening or narrowing the stereo field as needed. Finally, the custom-designed Transformer circuit introduces subtle low-frequency saturation alongside a high-frequency phase shift, simultaneously thickening the low end and adding sparkle on top — a combination that’s difficult to replicate with plugins alone.
Housed in just 2U of rack space with balanced XLR I/O, ±12dB input/output trim controls, large peak-hold metering, and a switchable 3rd-order highpass filter, Fusion is built to slot easily into any mastering or mixing chain. Whether you’re polishing a final master or adding analog character to key stems, the SSL Fusion gives you five complementary tools in one box. Order yours today from Marshall Music, South Africa’s home for Solid State Logic gear.

Solid State Logic
Founded in 1969 by Colin Sanders, Solid State Logic began life building switching systems for pipe organs before evolving into the world’s leading manufacturer of analog and digital audio consoles. SSL pioneered industry-defining technologies — including motorized fader automation and total recall of mixer settings — and its large-format consoles became the backbone of major recording, broadcast, film, and live sound facilities worldwide, shaping the sound of countless hit records.
In recent years SSL has brought that console DNA into the personal and project studio space, with a range of award-winning audio interfaces (SSL 2, SSL 2+, SSL 12, SSL 1), compact mixers, control surfaces, channel strips, and processing plug-ins. Renowned for high-bandwidth, low-distortion signal paths and the iconic “SSL sound,” the brand remains a benchmark name across professional and home studios alike.
