The body features a true X-braced acoustic sound chamber, and extra details such as a bolt-on mahogany neck and sealed tuners help you reach destinations safely and in record time. The Highway Series Dreadnought is certainly playable unplugged, but it truly shines on the stage. Guitarists here find the thinline body naturally suppresses feedback for a plugged-in sound that’s professional and pristine. Furthermore, unlike most acoustic-electric guitars, Highway Series instruments work well with pedals! Mahogany and spruce tonewoods

A solid Sitka spruce top gives this Fender Highway Series Dreadnought a bright, punchy sound balanced with mahogany back and sides for rich sustain. Together, these tonewoods deliver a timeless all-purpose sound while keeping this guitar incredibly lightweight and maneuverable. Moreover, floating X-bracing inside the sound chamber amps up the volume and balances sound to perfection — proof that Fender and the Highway Series are committed to acoustic excellence.

Fluence Acoustic systems are uniquely optimized for the different Fender Highway Series body shapes. This all-analog pickup offers top-mounted controls for quick onstage adjustments without missing a beat. Still, the Fluence system’s exciting innovation is arguably the sound of its patented pickup curvature. Conventional bar-shaped pickups register string movements in a straight, uniform line across all six strings. In contrast, the Fluence Acoustic curvature has individually optimized pickup points for each string, thereby eliminating the stiff, boxy presence of conventional soundhole pickups for a richer, more compelling sound.

Tone-tweaking options

In addition to volume controls, the Fluence Acoustic system’s contour knob lets players make punchy EQ adjustments with two core voices and blendable nuances to explore. Voice 1 offers a more “natural” acoustic guitar sound with fuller bass and is the go-to sound for singer/songwriters. Voice 2 reigns in bass with more high-end clarity and midrange muscle. This tighter voice gels well with drums, bass guitar, and more with a mix-cutting sound (it’s also great for soloing or getting the best sound out of pedals).
