Drumstick Selection Guide
One of the most difficult things as a drummer is to find the correct sticks to use. There are also different aspects to consider when choosing sticks. A choice of stick depends on the type of music you play, the type of cymbals you have and most importantly comfort in your hands. Getting used to more than one type of a stick is an advantage to any drummer. The best thing to do when purchasing sticks, is try many different kinds, the more you try the easier it will be to find the sticks that you are comfortable with.
The size and kind of tip of a drumstick will effect the sound. Drumsticks have two kinds of tips:

The different shapes of a tip also effect the sound. Here is a list of some shapes you get.
- Tear Drop
- Barrel
- Small Round
- Large Round
- Acorn
- Ball
- Oval
The length and thickness of a stick will effect the volume of a cymbal, a heavy stick will produce more volume when playing, common in heavy metal music. A lighter stick gives you more control and you may even feel quicker.
