Tulsa Pittaway

 

Tulsa is a Sabian Cymbals endorsee.

Tulsa Pittaway was born on December 9, 1974 in Harare, Zimbabwe. His parents immigrated to South Africa while he was still an infant where he grew up and attended school. Having been born into an artistic family he was surrounded by music from a very early age

In 1988 he joined the Park Town Boys High School Cadet band as a side drummer where he received his first formal musical training from renowned world champion side drummer, Jeff Owen. This foundation was a cornerstone in Tulsa's musical career. A year later he moved to the National School of The Arts where he majored in orchestral percussion with piano as his second instrument.

In 1992 he graduated with a distinction in percussion and went on to join the South African Army senior staff band as a drummer and percussionist where he was eventually promoted to the position of section leader. Tulsa has worked alongside many great artists such as Mark Hunter & Saul Davies (James) and done session work for many more such as Netherlands pop diva, Kim Lian.

In January 2000 Tulsa joined the platinum selling pop rock band Watershed where he recorded two albums and toured internationally.

In February 2007, Tulsa Joined rock band EVOLVER who continue to, record and promote their music.
